~Palace Poetry~
I love poetry, unfortunately, I am not gifted in the area of writing
poetry. These are some of my favorite poems. If you write poetry, I would
love to add yours to this page. All you have to do is email me
your original poem and if it meets with the Palace's standards I will add it to my collection.
Too slow for those who wait, Too swift for those who fear, Too long for those who grieve, Too short for those who rejoice; But for those who love, Time is eternal. **author unknown Isn't it strange that princes and kings and clowns that caper in saw dust rings and comon people like you and me are builders for eternity Each is given a bag of tools, A shapeless mass, A book of rules; And each must make.. Ere life is flown-- A stumbling block Or a steppingstone. **R.L. Sharpe Her hardest hue to hold Her early leaf's a flower But only so, an hour As leaf subsides to leaf So Eden sank to grief As dawn turns to day Nothing gold can stay **Robert Frost The thief that shortens All our golden hours I have never understood then Why lovers count their happiness In days and nights and years While our love can only be measured In our joys and sighs and tears **V.J. Rajadhon ~Fate's Poet~
I will tell you now of the greatest of all paradoxes. That greatest paradox is love. Some people dare to try and explain it. I will show you why these people are wrong. Some people say that love is the happiest of all emotions. These people are wrong. How can the happiest of all emotions cause such pain Love is pain and grief. Others say that love is the worst emotion. These people are also wrong. How can the worst emotion carry such simplistic beauty? Love is joy and happiness. You may be asking how both these statements can be wrong. Simple, love is a mixture of both. To truly taste of love, you must drink from both sides of the glass. True love can only be found after pain and happiness are felt.
Why did you "love" me? Why did you claim your undying devotion Did you see it as some twisted game A dark place filled with your intrigue and lies My heart is no game If you did not truly love me, then why did you speak the words Why did you make me care about you if nothing susbtantial was there? Place your hand over my heart and tell me what you feel Can you feel the fissures your games have created? You left my heart a broken and shattered land It is now my time to shine without holding your hand...
I often sit back and wonder where you are The mists of time rise off the lake and engulf me I am taken back to a better time and place Back in your arms, when these walks weren't alone I think back to the time we spent by the lake The feeling of warm sand beneath our feet The faint and intoxicating smell of your perfume The golden hue of your hair as the sun cascaded down I now take these long walks alone But the sound of your laughter still rings in my ears I can still feel the warmth of your embrace And I can't help but wonder if things might have been different if you were still in my arms...
